This food pantry supports individuals and families with groceries. You can sign up by filling out a form on the website or by walking into the offices on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3 PM to 5 PM to complete a form. After signing up, you will receive a notice when your food package is available for pick-up.

Part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program, this site provides free, nutritious breakfast and lunch to children ages 18 and younger throughout the summer months when school is out. Operated on-site at Northside Baptist Church in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Atrium Health, and Sodexo, the program welcomes all children with no registration, paperwork, or documentation required. The church also partners with Loaves & Fishes Charlotte Mecklenburg for additional free food distribution events throughout the year.

Governors' Village STEM Academy (Lower) is one of more than 50 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools sites participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Operated by CMS School Nutrition Services under Executive Director Cathy Beam Essick, the site provides free, nutritious summer meals to school-age youth when regular school meals are unavailable. Meals are served in the school cafeteria. Guests check in at the front office on arrival. The program follows standard USDA summer nutrition guidelines, offering balanced ready-to-eat meals with breakfast and lunch components including grain, protein, fruit, vegetable, and milk.

Faith CME Church offers food to help meet the nutritional needs of the community. The pantry operates as a drive-thru and is open to anyone in need.

Update to FEMA Card Program We have received additional FEMA gift cards, and the program will reopen in June for clients with supplemental dietary needs. Reminder that clients may receive one referral per calendar year (Jan–Dec). Referrals must be CALLED in by medical providers ONLY.

Lemontree can provide the required referral for this pantry. Please reach out to our helpline for help getting a referral for a Nourish Up pantry. Nourish Up also runs pop-up food shares, where no referral, ID or financial documents are required. Pre-registration is required for these pop-ups. University Soup Kitchen is Charlotte's first 'green' food pantry, founded in 2013 by Joshua Bridges on the UNC Chapel Hill campus and now operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization rescues surplus fresh meals from local restaurants and stores and redistributes them to individuals, families, and homeless communities across the Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro areas. Programs include a Mobile Help Center that delivers food and groceries by appointment Monday through Thursday, a Mobile Meals service serving underserved neighborhoods along the North and South Tryon corridors (including South Side Homes and Dillehay Courts) on Saturdays, a Mobile Market, weekly Soup Kitchen Sundays distributing hot meals alongside clothing and hygiene items, a USK Kids Club youth-mentorship program, and disaster-relief support.
