University Soup Kitchen is Charlotte's first 'green' food pantry, founded in 2013 by Joshua Bridges on the UNC Chapel Hill campus and now operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization rescues surplus fresh meals from local restaurants and stores and redistributes them to individuals, families, and homeless communities across the Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro areas.
