Eastern Area Community Ministries (EACM) provides emergency food and financial assistance to residents of eastern Jefferson County. The food pantry operates as a full client-choice model where participants shop for their own groceries with the help of volunteer companions. Emergency pre-packed food boxes are also available for one-time visitors. EACM also offers a diaper closet, a home-delivered meals program for anyone facing a life event that makes meal preparation difficult, free English classes and citizenship preparation, and the Helping Hands Partnership program that provides case management, mentorship, and workshops for long-term stability. EACM is an equal opportunity provider and a distribution site for Dare to Care and USDA food resources.

Jeffersontown Area Ministries (JAM) brings together thirteen faith-based communities, local businesses, individuals, and government partners to provide a safety net for neighbors in crisis. Volunteers and staff show compassion to all who come through their doors, offering a welcoming environment for those seeking help.

We currently have volunteers answering phones Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9am-12pm. After that (or while they are assisting other families), individuals will be able to leave a message on a designated voicemail for food appointments.

Bethlehem Baptist Church is a Dare to Care and Government Commodities distribution center serving both church members and the nearby community. Food is distributed drive-thru style from the back parking lot. The church also operates a Clothes Closet providing free clothing. The Special Ministries Office can assist with questions and financial assistance referrals.

The CLM Food Pantry serves local residents in Indiana. Clients are interviewed in the lobby and receive prepared food boxes distributed from a side entrance. Clients may visit once per month; unhoused clients can receive food that does not require cooking or refrigeration. The pantry follows USDA guidelines.

A Dare to Care partner food pantry providing Dare to Care food supplies and USDA Commodities to eligible individuals and families. Eligible persons may receive food assistance once per calendar month. The ministry also distributes weekly produce provided by Dare to Care. Operated by Community Ministries of Walnut Street Baptist Church and staffed by volunteers. Equal opportunity provider.

St. Augustine Catholic Church, established in 1870 as the first African-American parish in the Archdiocese of Louisville, operates a Dare to Care food center as part of its outreach ministry serving the West Louisville community. The church is an active partner with West Louisville Community Ministries, providing additional support and referral services. Monday distributions include shelf-stable groceries and meat, while Wednesday distributions feature fresh produce and bakery items on a first-come, first-served basis. The pantry also provides bagged lunches as part of its meal program.

South Louisville Community Ministries provides emergency assistance and compassionate advocacy to low-income neighbors in crisis, addressing immediate needs of hunger and stable housing. Clients select their own groceries in a choice pantry format rather than receiving pre-packaged boxes. The organization also helps with LG&E and water utility payments, medical and prescription costs, and connects neighbors with mental health resources and healthcare enrollment assistance. Services are limited to residents of specific south Louisville zip codes.

A faith-based nonprofit founded on Christmas Day 1988 that partners with Dare to Care to distribute groceries and meals to individuals and families in need. Part of a broader ministry that also includes addiction recovery, veteran housing, and disaster relief services. Individuals must be present in person to receive food—no proxy pickup is allowed. Households may receive one emergency food box per month. Food assortment and quantities vary with no guarantee. The organization has served over 9 million meals in Kentucky and surrounding areas.
