Provide confidential, appointment-based emergency food assistance for financially eligible local residents through JFS’s Emergency Assistance program. As a comprehensive social service agency, JFS SHW can also connect clients to counseling, senior services, career support, and other resources.

Somerset County residents only. All services are free and available directly without referrals from other agencies. This is not a government agency and personal information is not reported to anyone. You can register and receive food on your first visit with no waiting period. The main pantry-warehouse offers a much larger selection than the satellite locations. Clients can browse and choose their own food. In addition to groceries, personal care items and cleaning supplies are available (ask staff for items not on shelves).

Feeding Hands Food Pantry hosts its Manville site at Emmanuel Baptist Church, serving Manville residents. Provides groceries and other resources to individuals and families in need in a welcoming, dignified environment. Beyond food, the organization helps connect guests with additional services they may need. Open to all regardless of race, color, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, religion, age, or disability.

My Neighbor's Pantry is a food assistance ministry of Zarephath Christian Church that distributes shelf-stable groceries, personal care items, and diapers to individuals and families in need. The pantry serves Somerset County and North Plainfield, distributing over 50 tons of food annually. Clients can also receive free clothing through the on-site My Neighbor's Boutique using a credit system, and the ministry provides resource referrals to connect families with additional support. The pantry is open to low-income individuals, disaster survivors, ALICE-qualified persons, veterans, and welfare recipients in the service area.

The Salvation Army of Boundbrook serves Somerset County. This location offers food assistance and other items like clothing, school supplies, holiday meals, and coats. Manville Reformed Church Food Pantry

SHIP provides emergency food assistance and prepared meals alongside supportive services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and hunger, operating a Safe Harbor drop‑in center, an emergency food pantry, weekday Brown Bag lunches, and a weekday Mobile Soup Kitchen. The program also offers clothing, hygiene items, and connections to housing and other supports.
