The Food for Families program, run in partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank, provides groceries twice a month. This program is exclusively for families who are active members of the West End House Boys & Girls Club.

Offers pre-packed bags of non-perishable groceries, such as soup, macaroni, rice, and cornflakes, when the YMCA is open. There are no requirements to receive food.

New clients must bring the following:

• Photo ID
• Proof of address (if not the same address as the photo ID)
• Proof of income such as social security letter.
  • If unemployed, must fill out the declaration of no income form.
• Any proof of household size, such as:
  • Documents of the people living within the residence
  • Health Insurance card
  • Photo ID
• NOTE: Clients can come once a month
• Only serves members of their neighborhood

Other programs are conducted every Thursday that only requires the following:

We serve individuals and families located in Brookline, Needham, Waltham, Watertown, and Wellesley. In order to receive food, please visit https://www.centrestfoodpantry.org/get-groceries.

If you are located in one of our service areas you are eligible to pick up food once a month. We are open every Tuesday and every 3rd Saturday of the month. Most of our Tuesday service is appointment only, you can make an appointment up to a week in advance here. If you are unable to make an appointment, you may pick up groceries between 3:30-5:00pm, while supplies last. If you or a member of your household are 65+, you may pick up groceries without an appointment during the first hour of our service, from 1:00pm-2:00pm.

On your first visit, you must bring a recent (within the past 4 month) bill, lease or statement that shows your name and address. You may also provide a recent document from the school system that shows your child's name. If you are picking up for your family, you must provide the names and birthdays of all household members. When you arrive a volunteer will work with you to fill out the registration form.

We are located at 11 Homer St, Newton, however we distribute food out of our side entrance on Furber Lane. If you are arriving by car, please pull into the line on Homer Street. If you are walking to us, please go to the tent closest to Homer Street and a volunteer will come to meet you.

Donations can be dropped off on: Tuesday, Thurday, or Friday from 9 am-12 pm.

Emergency Food Delivery Assistance

1. Must live in Brookline
2. Disabled or high risk due to age, immune-compromised, or other related medical conditions
3. Has a referral from local social service agencies (not required)

Holy Res church corner of Farrington and Harvard Ave Line starts to form around 5:30 pm, door opens @ 6 pm PLEASE dress for the weather, and bring sturdy bags or cart They will also have surplus food out on tables to take what you want.
