    Lamond Recreation Center, operated by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, hosts a USDA Summer Food Service Program site in Ward 4. Through the DC Youth Meals Program it provides free, ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch to youth 18 and younger during the summer break, with no application or ID required. Meals follow USDA meal-pattern standards including milk, fruit and/or vegetable, and whole-grain, served on a walk-up basis during scheduled weekday meal windows. The program runs from late June through mid-August each summer. Outside of meal windows, the center also offers general DPR programming including arts and crafts, a fitness center, gymnasium, multipurpose room, baseball field, and playground.
