    Info

We are a student-run food back for all community members and Rowan students.

We primarily serve produce in the form of vegetables. Occasionally, we have pantry items and rarely dairy. NO MEAT.

We do not require any form of ID or liscence to recieve food. You do not have to register.

We are located in Parking Lot D of Rowan University, directly across from Glassboro High School. Look for the green-tractor trailer in a university parking lot.

The food bank is held entirely outdoors, but patrons wait in their cars. Patrons line up on the far end of the parking lot, away from the green tractor trailer. There will be a parking attendant to help you line up. Once service begins, two cars will be sent up at a time to recieve deliveries.

If you come in a car, you must get into the car line. We have a seperate table for walkups, created for students living on campus without cars. If you park, wait for service to start, and then walk up, we will send you to the car line.

If you are a walkup, and do not want to wait outside in poor weather conditions, you are welcome to wait inside Rowan Engineering Hall, located to our north. The Engineering hall also has bathrooms that are free to use.

If you are are using RideShare to get to campus, you may use the walk-up line.

Any student or community member found parking and using the walkup line will not be permitted to get food.

We operate every Friday from 9am-11am. We are open during winter and summer breaks. We are closed for major holidays, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's. We do not start at 10am, the website's times are inaccurate.

We close for temperatures below freezing and emergency weather conditions.

We may start later than usual (between 10am-11am) as the delivery truck with produce is not always on time. Please be prepared to wait an hour or more to recieve food. You may not cut in line if you have an early appointment or other obligation. Please plan wisely and expect the truck to be late. Clients in line can expect to wait between 1-2 hours for their food, depending on when the client gets here, and when the truck gets here.

If you need to use the restroom before service starts, you are free to park your car in line and walk to the Engineering Hall. Do not leave your car once service starts. The line moves quickly, once we get going. Once the truck gets here, the volunteers need at least ten minutes to set up. Use this information to plan your bathroom visits.

Beforce service each Friday morning, please call this number: 856-244-1166. By calling this number, a recording will play, informing you if we are open for service or not. We try to inform our clients the week before if we are closed the following, but sometimes, we may have to cancel unexpectedly in the middle of the week. This number is the best way to know if service for the week is cancelled or not.

Volunteers will place produce items in either your trunk, back seat, or front seat. Please provide boxes for students to place items inside. Boxes are preffered, but bags are also welcome. The trunk is preffered for dropping off items, but your car's back seat and front seat are perfectly acceptable.

If you’ve signed up for personalized assistance through our text message helpline, please take a look at the links we’ve sent you! Here’s a list of everything that’s open today: The Pitman Pantry, Pitman Road Church of Christ
