Starting July 21st, the Camino pantry will transition to a hybrid client choice model where clients select food items using an online ordering system while remaining in their vehicles, with on-site staff assistance and provided devices for those needing them.

Part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program, this site provides free, nutritious breakfast and lunch to children ages 18 and younger throughout the summer months when school is out. Operated on-site at Northside Baptist Church in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Atrium Health, and Sodexo, the program welcomes all children with no registration, paperwork, or documentation required. The church also partners with Loaves & Fishes Charlotte Mecklenburg for additional free food distribution events throughout the year.

Hosts the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Summer Meal Program, a USDA-funded initiative that provides free meals and snacks to children and teens eighteen and younger during summer break. Operated by CMS School Nutrition Services in partnership with the church, meals are served ready-to-eat on-site. No registration, documentation, or proof of income is required. The church campus also hosts additional community resources through its partnerships with local nonprofits.

Governors' Village STEM Academy (Lower) is one of more than 50 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools sites participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Operated by CMS School Nutrition Services under Executive Director Cathy Beam Essick, the site provides free, nutritious summer meals to school-age youth when regular school meals are unavailable. Meals are served in the school cafeteria. Guests check in at the front office on arrival. The program follows standard USDA summer nutrition guidelines, offering balanced ready-to-eat meals with breakfast and lunch components including grain, protein, fruit, vegetable, and milk.

Faith CME Church offers food to help meet the nutritional needs of the community. The pantry operates as a drive-thru and is open to anyone in need.

The Food Pantry provides food and sustenance to those in need of supplemental nutrition.

A Client Choice Pantry operated by Nourish Up (formerly Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays) at Statesville Ave. Presbyterian Church, where clients can select their own groceries. This is one of four Nourish Up pantry locations designated as a TEFAP distribution site, where eligible individuals can receive a USDA food box on a first-come, first-served basis without a referral, registration, or appointment. For the general Client Choice Pantry groceries (a 7-day supply of nutritionally balanced food for each household member), a referral from an approved human services professional is required. Referrals can be made by medical providers, government agencies, schools, or faith organizations. FEMA gift cards are also available for clients with supplemental dietary needs, limited to one referral per calendar year (January through December), called in by medical providers only.

Sugaw Creek Recreation Center hosts a USDA Summer Food Service Program site run by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools School Nutrition Services. Free nutritious meals and snacks are provided to children and teens during summer break at this Mecklenburg County recreation center. As a federal open site, all children 18 and under can receive meals at no cost, and children eat on site. The center also offers youth programs and community activities during summer, so families can combine meal service with recreation programming in a welcoming neighborhood space.
