    All Rutgers-Newark community members (students, staff, faculty) have access to the RU-N Pantry as a completely free resource for groceries, including dairy, grains, fresh produce, period products, and more. There is no eligibility process, order online here and pick up your order at the pantry in PRCC 226. When picking up your groceries for the first time, you'll be asked to answer a few questions and receive a free reusable bag to bring back with you.

Online ordering opens at 10:00 am on Mondays. Online ordering closes on Fridays at 11:30 am and remains closed over the weekend unless we are open for the 2nd or 4th Saturday of the month. Remember to: Order at least 30 minutes in advance Bring your RUID when you come to pick up groceries Bring a reusable bag (we do not provide bags unless it is your first visit) SNAP New Jersey’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, NJ SNAP, provides food assistance to families with low incomes to help them buy groceries through a benefits card accepted in most food retail stores and some farmers markets. Eligibility is set by several factors, such as income and resources. You can use SNAP benefits to stretch your food budget and buy nutritious foods that can keep you and your family healthy. Many college students are eligible for SNAP! If you would like to learn more or get help with a SNAP application, contact pantry_run@newark.rutgers.edu with "SNAP Application Help" in the subject line.
