Pantry operates as a client‑choice model with a new registration system for guests. On‑site social services include ID cards, haircut vouchers, clothing, toiletries, limited phone access, and mail service for unhoused guests.

Alliance for Positive Change's Midtown Central Headquarters primarily serves individuals enrolled in their programs, particularly those with two or more chronic illnesses, HIV, or mental health and substance use issues. They offer extensive social services, including support groups, housing navigation, insurance linkage, job training, cash management, and health homes. A main food pantry distribution is held on the 15th of every month for registered clients. Emergency food is available during operating hours, provided once for first-time non-clients, and ongoing for registered clients. To become a client and access services, walk-ins are welcome for intake Monday through Friday, preferably by 4:00 PM. Please bring an ID and Medicaid card for intake. The location is on the 3rd Floor. The phone number is a central line providing options for various Alliance for Positive Change centers.

We are only open to folks who are already GMHC clients. In order to receive our food pantry or hot meal services, folks must arrive with a GMHC client ID

Everyone who wishes to receive food must be registered. Registration occurs during the hours of distribution only. You must bring identification, social benefits card(s), and proof of residence for all the members of your household.

Phipps Neighborhoods’ Food Access program provides weekly emergency pantry meal kits from its Bronx centers and connects clients with nutrition education, SNAP/benefits enrollment, financial counseling, and workforce supports. The program prioritizes culturally relevant foods, including fresh produce and proteins, to help families improve food security.

Distribution is on Madison Square Park (5th Ave. & 27th St.) "For a smoother experience, this is a grab-and-go meal site where trucks arrive sometimes earlier or later due to traffic. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the scheduled time. If the truck is running late, please allow at least 15 minutes from the scheduled arrival time before inquiring."

Free food pantry for current New School students, located at the University Center Event Café (Room L103A). Offers non‑perishable groceries and can serve members of the student's household. Students may email foodpantry@newschool.edu to request an appointment or arrange pickup if unable to visit during posted hours.
