Philadelphia Legal Assistance provides free civil legal help to low-income Philadelphians. Their Public Benefits unit assists with SNAP (food stamps) and other benefits issues, including applications, wrongful denials or terminations, overpayments, and related problems. Clients are screened for eligibility and can start by calling the intake hotline or applying online; walk-ins are not offered.
