    Lamond Recreation Center, operated by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, hosts a USDA Summer Food Service Program site in Ward 4. Through the DC Youth Meals Program it provides free, ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch to youth 18 and younger during the summer break, with no application or ID required. Meals follow USDA meal-pattern standards including milk, fruit and/or vegetable, and whole-grain, served on a walk-up basis during scheduled weekday meal windows. The program runs from late June through mid-August each summer. Outside of meal windows, the center also offers general DPR programming including arts and crafts, a fitness center, gymnasium, multipurpose room, baseball field, and playground.

    The Mobile Market provides fresh fruits, vegetables, and other foods to MC students, faculty/staff, and the community. The food is distributed on campus at no cost. All you need to do is check the schedule for the campus convenient to you, bring your bags to carry your groceries, and pick up some food.

    No proof of eligibility is required. Food is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Mobile Market is a partnership between Montgomery College and the Capital Area Food Bank. If you're interested in volunteering with the Mobile Market, please fill out the volunteer form
