Center for Food Action's Mahwah location operates as a client choice pantry where guests shop for their own food in a supermarket-like experience, selecting items that best suit their dietary preferences and cultural needs rather than receiving a pre-packaged box. This is the only CFA site currently offering the full choice model. Beyond food assistance, the organization provides utility and rental assistance, homelessness prevention services, and help navigating public benefit programs to residents of Bergen and Passaic counties. CFA is unable to serve residents of Paterson and Passaic cities for food assistance.
