New York Common Pantry's East Harlem site offers two distinct food programs. The Client Choice Pantry provides supplemental grocery packages in five categories (protein, dairy, grains, fruits, and vegetables) scaled to household size; registration with photo ID for adults, ID for children, and proof of address is required, and packages are distributed every two weeks. The Hot Meals/Brown Bags To Go Program provides ready-to-eat meals seven days a week — Hot Meals are offered as dine-in or take-away on weekdays, while Brown Bag Meals (a sandwich, snack, and beverage) are take-away only on weekends and holidays. Everyone is welcome for meal service with no photo ID required. Emergency grocery bags, case management, and pet food (when available) may also be provided.

Tag Young Scholars is a New York City public K-8 gifted and talented school in East Harlem that also serves as a free summer meals location. During summer recess, the school's cafeteria opens to the community through the NYC Department of Education's Summer Meals Program, offering free nutritious breakfast and lunch to children and teens on weekdays. Children do not need to be enrolled at TAG to participate, and meals are served on a first-come, first-served basis with halal options available at this site. The program is operated centrally by the NYC DOE Office of Food and Nutrition Services, and families can also use the citywide site finder or text/phone 311 to locate additional nearby options.

P.S. 146 Ann M. Short is a New York City public elementary school in East Harlem that serves as a neighborhood site for the New York City Department of Education's Free Summer Meals Program, run by the Office of Food and Nutrition Services. During the summer recess the school opens its doors to any child or teen in the community to pick up free, ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch on weekdays. No registration, identification, or proof of income is required, and meals are served while supplies last.

A weekly, grocery-style food pantry operated by LSA Family Health Service that provides fresh, healthy groceries and connects families with LSA’s Family Health Service programs.

Iris House offers two distinct food programs. A Fresh Market is available almost every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, where clients can get a number for service. This market is open to everyone and typically has long lines. Additionally, a Pantry service is available on Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, accessible to clients without an appointment.

A free summer meal site operated by NYC Public Schools that serves free breakfast and lunch to children and teens 18 years old and younger. No registration, proof of income, or identification is required, and adults do not need to accompany children to pick up meals.

St. Cecilia's Food Pantry provides a variety of groceries to support individuals and families in the community. Our dedicated volunteers strive to make the process smooth and welcoming for everyone who visits.

ID required for all members of the household. Proof of address required. Participants may attend the food pantry once per month; an email may go out inviting participants to return for an additional bag if food supplies allow it.
