    Info

Martha's Closet is a food pantry at Malaga United Methodist Church, named in honor of Martha Langley, a faithful church member since 1947 who served the congregation for over 70 years. The pantry shares emergency food with love and respect, serving 50 to 60 families each month. It is stocked through congregational donations on Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of each month), support from sister churches Porchtown Zion UMC and Plainville UMC, and community food and monetary contributions. The pantry is located in the church basement, accessed through the doors between the sanctuary and the parsonage. A clothing closet operated by Porchtown Zion UMC is available at the same time.

    Info

This USDA Summer Food Service Program site operates at the Golden Gate Childcare Development Center, a licensed New Jersey childcare center that serves children from six weeks old through school age. During the summer season the facility opens its doors to any child eighteen or younger in the community for free breakfast and lunch on weekdays. The childcare center itself runs year-round with educational programming, daily meals, and recreation, and the summer meal program is sponsored by the Bridgeton Board of Education and administered locally by Program Director Sakira Mayes through Golden Gate Inc. Children do not need to be enrolled in the daycare to receive a meal, and no proof of income, residency, or identification is required at the door.
