El Coqui Liberation Community Garden is a South Bronx community garden that hosts a mutual-aid food pantry through Mission Helping Hand's Garden Project. Volunteers distribute free groceries, including fresh produce harvested from the garden's raised beds and shelf-stable staples such as rice, cereal, fruits, canned goods, and grab-and-go lunches, along with personal hygiene kits. The site also serves as a Trinity Church Wall Street Compassion Meals partner location for twice-monthly grocery distributions. The Door's Bronx Youth Center provides an on-site food pantry with groceries and daily prepared to-go meals for youth members aged 12 to 24. Word of Life Christian Fellowship is a community food pantry serving the South Bronx through the outreach of Word of Life International. The pantry distributes groceries to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity and offers fresh produce through the FreshConnect Food Box program in partnership with GrowNYC. SNAP and EBT are accepted, and anyone who is hungry or at risk of hunger is welcome, regardless of immigration status. Beyond groceries, clients can access free counseling with licensed social workers, case management, nutrition education, health screenings, and senior wellness programming for ages 55 and older.
