Cardozo Education Campus hosts a free summer meal site as part of the DC Youth Meals Program, a federally funded initiative of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education that ensures children and teens ages 18 and younger continue to receive nutritious meals when school is out. The site is open to all neighborhood youth regardless of school enrollment, with ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch served on campus during the summer break, so families do not need to worry about paperwork, identification, or income verification to participate.

How do I get food?

You can receive food by visiting Cardozo EC, at 8:30 AM in 2 days. Make sure to check each resource to see details like address, full schedule, and requirements–Cardozo EC requires: All children under 18 are eligible, Summer Meal Program- Free meals and snacks to children 18 and younger.

Can someone deliver the food to my house?

Delivery services are very limited and are usually reserved for senior citizens or those with serious medical problems. If you believe you fall into either category, let us know and we can help you find options in your area.
