Info

Operated by Excel Academy at Francis M. Wood High School, this Summer Food Service Program site provides free nutritious breakfast and lunch to youth living in and around the Poppleton and Union Square neighborhoods of west Baltimore throughout summer break. The site runs as an open USDA Summer Food Service location, so any child who walks up can be fed without prior enrollment, paperwork, or cost. The school itself is a public alternative high school for credit recovery that also maintains year-round wrap-around supports — including an on-site food pantry, clothing supply, daycare for student parents, and a Wellness Boutique — to help its families and the surrounding community.
