Info
Ludlow-Taylor Elementary School hosts an open summer meal site as part of the District of Columbia's DC Youth Meals Program, which is the local implementation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program. School-aged visitors can stop by during operating hours to receive a free nutritious breakfast and lunch in the school cafeteria. The site is open to the broader community, not just enrolled students, so any child or teen visiting the neighborhood can eat on-site at no cost. There is no application, no income paperwork, and no identification needed to receive a meal. The program is sponsored by DC Public Schools and administered through the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), filling the summer hunger gap when free school-year breakfast and lunch are not available.
