Info

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Playstreets is a volunteer-led summer meal and supervised play program that closes a designated residential block to vehicle traffic so neighborhood children have a safe outdoor space to gather, play, and eat. Trained Playstreet supervisors lead group games and activities while Philadelphia Parks & Rec staff serve free nutritious lunches and afternoon snacks to participating children. The program runs only during summer months and is part of the USDA-funded Summer Food Service Program administered in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, returning to the same blocks each year.
