Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Playstreets is a summer community program that closes a designated city block to vehicle traffic and opens it for safe outdoor play for children eighteen and under. Through the federal Summer Food Service Program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the site serves free nutritious meals and snacks alongside free play equipment and supplies, with neighborhood volunteers supervising the site during program hours.
