Playstreets is a Philadelphia Parks & Recreation program that closes designated city blocks to traffic each day during summer, turning the street into a safe, supervised outdoor space where neighborhood children can play. This site also serves as a free USDA summer meal site, providing nutritious meals and snacks to children on the block. The program is volunteer-led and run in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and meal providers such as Nutritional Development Services; meals are intended to be eaten on site per USDA rules.
