Info
PlayStreets is a Philadelphia Parks and Recreation summer program that closes neighborhood streets to car traffic so children can play safely outside. Trained site supervisors lead organized games and supply free play equipment. Each site also serves free meals and snacks to children through the federally funded USDA Summer Food Service Program, helping fight summer hunger. The program has been operating for more than fifty years and reaches neighborhoods across Philadelphia. Young people and families do not need an ID, proof of income, or an appointment to take part, and meals are offered on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
