Playstreets is a Philadelphia Parks and Recreation summer program that closes a designated city block to vehicle traffic so children in the neighborhood can play safely outdoors. Each playstreet offers free supervised play, games, and play equipment alongside free, ready-to-eat meals and snacks served under the federal Summer Food Service Program. The site is one of roughly 300 to 350 neighborhood blocks participating each summer, providing a welcoming drop-in space for kids to stay active, eat, and socialize with neighbors between school years.
