The Reservoir Park Recreation Center hosts a no-cost summer meal site as part of the DC Youth Meals Program, the District's USDA Summer Food Service Program that fills the hunger gap for children when school is out. Children 18 and younger can stop by during lunch service to receive a free, ready-to-eat meal and snack, with no application, registration, or ID required. The modern facility, which opened in 2024 on the former McMillan Sand Filtration site, is operated by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and features a fitness center, multi-purpose room, art walk, indoor pool, spray parks, playground, large grass field, and a historic fountain surrounding six acres of public space.
