Katie’s Cupboard is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9-11:30 am. Our entrance is on the Nedro Ave side of the church.

We give out non-perishable food, frozen, and fresh foods, clothing, books, and personal hygiene items to our community for free. Our volunteers will walk you around our pantry and assist you in selecting from the items that we have.

We require a form ID for registration into our system.

You are free to come in 1 time a month, and you will be given a slip for when you are able to return. Only 1 person per household may receive food.

We kindly ask that you bring in reusable bags to carry your food in, we don’t have extra to give out.

PlayStreets is a Philadelphia Parks & Recreation summer program that closes a neighborhood block to traffic so youth have a safe, car-free place to play outdoors. At this Palethorp Street site, children and teens ages 18 and under can drop in for free lunches or snacks and enjoy supervised outdoor games, sports, and free play equipment such as hula hoops, balls, jump ropes, and chalk provided by the program. A community volunteer serves as the on-site block supervisor each day while school is out, and there is no registration, no ID check, and no questions asked for youth to join.

The Greater Olney Library, part of the Free Library of Philadelphia system, hosts a Kids' and Teens Summer Lunches program providing free nutritious meals to youth 18 and under. Meals must be eaten on-site due to USDA regulations. The library also offers additional social services including job search assistance through PA CareerLink and social worker office hours. Located in the Fifth Street shopping district, one block south of Olney Avenue, the branch serves a diverse community with materials in many languages.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation runs Playstreets, a free summer program that closes designated neighborhood streets to automobile traffic so children can play safely outside. Each Playstreet features supervised games, activities, and free nutritious meals and snacks for kids, served by a volunteer Playstreet supervisor on the block. Meals are distributed in a casual outdoor setting while kids engage in organized play.

Community‑run food distribution (“Comida con Amor/Food with Love”) provides free groceries to anyone in need in Northeast Philadelphia, staffed by volunteers from the church and community. Additional assistance, such as clothing support events, may be offered separately.

This location can be accessed in the back of Rising Sun Health Center. Go around to the back of the shopping center and follow signs for Grace Adult Daycare Center. It is located next to their parking lot. Appointments are strongly recommended, and walk-ins are not guaranteed.
