    Philadelphia Playstreets is a Parks & Recreation summer program that closes designated city blocks to vehicle traffic so neighborhood children have a safe outdoor place to play. A trained resident volunteer supervises each site, distributing sports and play equipment and providing free, nutritious lunches and snacks to youth age 18 and under throughout the day. Roughly 300 to 350 Philadelphia blocks take part each summer in neighborhoods across the city, including this site on the 4300 block of Marple Street in the Northeast.
